REMEMBER!  Some Aquinas Learning materials (Parent Guides & Workbooks) are included in the subscription.  Other items are ordered through our "In-House Store" or at other stores like Amazon or Lulu.  These items are usually one-time purchases or optional, so we don’t automatically include them with the subscription.

PARVA

Parva Parent Guide (included in subscription)

AL Timeline Pages (required, but it's a one-time purchase because we use the same one every year)

AL Audio CDs (required only for mentors, but recommended for parents)

Catechism: Knowing God, Our Loving Father Parva Text
(we recommend buying for your oldest child from K-6, and using it for all the younger kids, Alta students each need their own Catechism text)

Latin: Song School Latin (required for mentors)

Literature:  FRA* (Family Read Aloud) - Parva:**

*Note in the Prima levels, it is not necessary to buy the specific ISBN we linked here.  We chose editions that were readily available, but you can use any edition.

The Hobbit (Tolkien)
Black Ships Before Troy (Sutcliff)
The Bronze Bow (Speare)
White Stag (Seredy)
Pyramid (Macaulay)
Tanglewood Tales (Hawthorne)

**These Family Read-Aloud books are meant for families with children 7 years and up, but since it's a family affair, we've added them here.  If you only have children 6 years and younger, there's no need to read these books now (though you may want to try - it's a family's choice really).  You can pick age-appropriate books/poems for you to read aloud. We recommend stories from My Bookhouse SeriesEdited by Olivia Beauport Miller, or classic books at mainlesson.com, for a wonderful selection of read-alouds for younger children.  D'Aulaire's Greek Myths or Norse Myths, Aesop's Fables, Mother Goose, and Hans Christian Andersen, and other fairy tales would also be appropriate for this age.
