Our Mission

To Know, Love, & Serve

Aquinas Learning is a classical education mentoring program which encourages the students to behold, wonder, and contemplate on things which are true, good, and beautiful, in order to cultivate wisdom and virtue.

By studying the liberal arts and by discussing the great ideas of Western civilization, in full communion with the Catholic Church, students develop a taste and affection for what is true, good, and beautiful as well as the skills of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and thinking through:

  • "Good Books" with Socratic discussions - story telling and learning ethics
  • Philosophy - discussing ideas and learning reasoning skills
  • Memory Works - Catechism, History, Science, Civics, Latin, Grammar, Timeline, and Geography
  • Fine Arts Studies – appreciating Music and Art to learn about artists, their skills, and to imitate
  • Science experiments – exploring the "splendor of order" in God’s creation
  • Oral presentations – practicing elocution and listening
  • Language Arts – learning composition (IEW), grammar, parsing, diagramming, copy work, and handwriting

Students form habits of mind, that of being inquisitive, perceptive, ordered, and contemplative, leading to moral and intellectual virtue, right reason applied to right action following God’s will for them.

Our Curriculum

“Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace will be with you.”

St. Paul: Philippians 4:6-9

Our Goals for Education

  1. TO KNOW GOD – We teach students that subjects are fingers pointing to the Truth.  Through divine revelation and our natural reason (fides et ratio), we lead students to perceive the Truth that is God.
  2. TO LOVE GOD – Upon perceiving this Truth, students come to a greater appreciation of God and His universe, His wisdom, and His love for man, and so grow in love for Him.
  3. TO SERVE GOD – Humbled before God, students learn to serve Him with dignity, honor, integrity, and nobility.

But where shall wisdom be found?  And where is the place of understanding? …And He said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.’” – Job 28:12-28
